Local promo ideas?
Local promo ideas?
What's up everyone. I'm trying to think of local promotion ideas (sell-able even better) to do.
We do the staples already like "Secret Santa" helping families out during Christmas, cover all HS/College Athletics, a food drive. Looking for something "new" to our market.
Whats worked for you or your market?
Thanks!
KT

I'm not sure what makes you an "outsider" any more than the real estate investors that call themselves "broadcaster" these days, but that's another show.
The fact that you asked for help tells me you care about your station and your market, though.
If you want to take the time to contact me and fill in a few blanks, perhaps I can help.
No one else I know seems to give a flying f#@k at a rolling donut that I'm trying to retire....why should you be any different?

I'm not sure how much I can help as my career is limited to the past 40 years and a couple of awards, but hey.....
(Truth is, I'm the biggest obstacle to my retirement)

Where are you currently residing?

1. Promote local businesses
If you want to promote your business locally, then you need to do some research about what people are looking for. You should look at what kind of products they buy and where they shop. If you know what people are buying, then you can start advertising your business right away.

What are major lifestyle interests of your P1's outside of concerts and cash? Tap into what they do during their away time. Camping, for example. It's huge in the Midwest. Give them a chance to win EVERYTHING a camper needs for the ultimate camping experience.
*Team up with a local outfitter to provide the grand prize.
*Register on air for a few weeks
*Additional 5 chances to qualify instore/online
*Execution contest must be fun and held at that clients location.
*Put out press release for local TV coverage.
Sure beats the cash collectives down the dial that EVERYONE else is doing that have become wallpaper.
