I just recorded 20 original songs, I have an email offer for one of them to be in a pilot... I'd really love to meet a manager who believes in me and my music for publishing... I see the directory here but how can I get an actual meeting with someone and how will I even know if they are a good match that I can trust?
I would say the most important aspect in selecting a manager is finding someone you can really trust. Too many managers are in the back pockets of label execs, promoters, booking agents, lawyers and the like, concerned for their own asses rather than having the artist’s back. Secondly, they have to have a shared ambition and passion for your career and a solid understanding of the business. Remember, this business is changing every day so no manager can know everything but if they are smart enough to know what they don’t know and diligent enough they can learn.
Having the right manager or management team is critical to the success. Manager must be a trusted person .A single person, outside of the artist of route is responsible for making thoughts of achievement turn into reality, constructing a brand, and business around the artist than a manager. One just have to find someone to get my music to the next level.
