Why does KROQ play the same song at the same time EVERY DAY?
Why does KROQ play the same song at the same time EVERY DAY?
Every day I drive to the gym at the same time. It takes me 10 minutes to get there. Every day I hear THE SAME DAMN SONG. And, by the way, it sucks. Way to alienate a long-time listener, guys.

Sounds like you need to tell them what song you like.

It's called the Music Director and/or the AMD being lazy.
And don't bother to try to tell them what song you DO like because they don't care. They think they are the all knowing radio station with their finger on the pulse. I've had the chance a few times to be a "fly on the wall" with some of the people there and they have no clue what YOU want nor do they care. You can request a song via the web-site and the email gets dumped straight into a trash file. What does that tell you!
LA and radio in general is killing itself slowly and all we can do is sit back and watch. I suggest buying an iPOD like everyone else is doing.

They're following the same standard as other radio stations.

As a former MD, I can confirm: you are correct.godzilla wrote:It's called the Music Director and/or the AMD being lazy.
Funny thing is, it takes about 2 minutes to set up a Selector rule to prevent that sort of FUBAR. Anyone who doesn't take the time to perform that simple function should be busted back to overnights, or the promotions internship from whence they came.
